Everyone is an individual, there is no rhyme or reason as to why we might love a certain type of music and loath another, or prefer one style and suddenly switch to something different. Without variety, the world would be a far more boring place, but when it comes to advertising, that’s where this presents a challenge. Corporate organisations spend millions on building up a profile customer – their likes and dislikes, their triggers to buy and their personality. For the average event organiser or community project organiser this isn’t possible – but would it actually help? As an event organiser you know who your audience is likely to be and what would get their attention – so designing your outdoor media to match their profile can help boost your numbers. How? Appealing to Personality Types With Outdoor Media

It’s an extreme example but imagine you’re hosting a charity murder mystery fundraiser, you want to target City professionals who like to socialise, so the last thing you would do is create a bold colored, bright city light pole banner series! Instead, subtle, sophisticated designs would be the perfect look to appeal to your target end customer. Thinking about the people you want to attract, you can use color schemes, words, images and even placement to catch the attention of different people. For example, an event targeted at moms would ideally have images of cute babies on city light Pole banners or building banners, as they are attuned to other baby images, soft color palette and brief, easy to remember information. Although it sounds a little stereotypical, these ideas work!
